We are an alliance of progressive organizations composed of overseas Filipinos and their families. We uphold and advance the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos within the framework of the Filipino people’s national democratic struggle.
Our founding Congress was held in December 1996 but as early as 1985, the need to organize overseas Filipinos was seen through the formation of the Committee for the Unity of Overseas Filipinos. Subsequently, the Migrante-APME (Asia-Pacific and Middle East) was formed.
During Migrante-APME’s first international conference in 1994, the need for a global alliance of overseas Filipinos resulted in Migrante-APME’s transformation into Migrante International in 1995.
Migrante Interantional currently has more than 100 member organizations in 22 countries.
